I’m a York-based maternity, newborn and family photographer with seven years of experience capturing life’s most precious moments.
I know just how quickly those tiny newborn days pass, and how important it is to have beautiful photographs to look back on as your family grows.
My sessions are relaxed, personal and completely baby-led. Whether your little one needs feeding, cuddles or a little extra time to settle, there’s never any pressure to rush.

When should I book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked before baby arrives, with most people booking after their 12 week scan. The sessions normally take place within the first weeks as they are still sleepy, new and flexible.
I have just had my baby, can I still book?
Of course! However I may already be booked up. The best thing to do is to contact me and I will let you know what availability I have.
What if my baby doesn't arrive on time?
Babies come whenever they are ready, and I am ready and flexible for that! I only book in a certain number of newborns to ensure flexibility of dates.
Where are you located?
I have a home studio in York, but I do also travel around Yorkshire for newborn home visits.
How do I book?
If I sound like your kind of photographer, you can either email me, call me or send me a message through Facebook or Instagram. I will get back to you to discuss available dates I have available.
In order to secure your date I do require a £50 non refundable deposit which is taken off the full amount owed just before our session.
I have just booked in, what next?
Thank you for booking with Lauren Fairman Photography. I will send you over your 'What happens next?' documents and a contract for you to sign and send back to me.
When is best to have a maternity shoot?
I would recommend that the best time to capture this magical time is between 30 and 36 weeks.
This is the perfect time for our pregnant ladies, as their bump will be well shaped and hopefully they will still feel more comfortable.
Please feel free to invite partners and children to the session.
What experience do you have?
I am a self taught photographer who has invested in the highest photography training to give myself the best knowledge and safety training that money can buy.
Not only am I trained in photography, I also have hands on experience working with 100s of babies and different families. Something that money cannot buy!
I am also a multi award winning photographer, with my work recognised at a professional photography level.
I am also a register member of The Guild of Photographers, which helps me to continually develop my skills.
